It's possible that I may turn into a crazy knitting lady.  My discovery of non-tacky chunky yarns is only going to fuel the fire.  I'm okay with this.

This particular project is a Christmas gift for my mom.  Yes, I realize that Christmas was yesterday.  However, once upon a time in fourth or fifth grade, I spent a Christmas Eve party frantically and despairingly crocheting in my room in an attempt to finish (and keep hidden) a red scarf for my mom.

I ended up wrapping the unfinished scarf with an apologetic note that said I would never procrastinate again.  She told me that in itself was a wonderful gift.  Unfortunately, I know I haven't upheld that lofty goal, but I have come to know myself and how I work.

So this year, I said "I'm knitting you something.  It'll be done soon.  In the meantime, here is your birthday gift from ten months ago that I never mailed."

I'll get it together someday.  Or maybe I won't, but either way, I'm letting myself off the hook. =)

Pictures of the finished project to be posted SOON!

  1. Hahaha, knitting is a dream of mine - to take the time to make something! I learned how to knit from my mom, but the patience to knit is something else I have yet to acquire ;) Thank you so much for your sweet comments on The Best of this Life!
